Project GRAD Los Angeles works to ensure that students in historically underserved and economically disadvantaged communities have access to an enriched quality public school education so that high school graduation, college-going, and college graduation rates increase. Serving 17,000 students and parents, Project GRAD utilizes a four-pronged strategy for creating a college-bound culture in a family of eleven Los Angeles Unified School District public schools.

"The source of America's prosperity has never been merely how ably we accumulate wealth, but how well we educate our people. This has never been more true than it is today."   President Barack Obama

Please consider supporting our work to enrich the quality of a public school education and create a college-bound culture that enables more students to  graduate from high school and succeed in college. Investing in Project GRAD Los Angeles with a donation is an investment in the prosperity of the greater Los Angeles area for many future generations to come.

Meet Some Project GRAD Los Angeles Scholars

"I know for a fact that, had I not been in a Project GRAD LA school, my college dream might never have become a reality."

Our Model

Affinity Organization

A community school is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities. Schools become centers of the community and are open to everyone – all day, every day, evenings and weekends.

Using public schools as hubs, community schools bring together many partners to offer a range of supports and opportunities to children, youth, families and communities.

Make A Difference, Be Counted!

Project GRAD Los Angeles is proud to serve as a Community Action Partner with the Office of the Census in helping to outreach within our communities so that every Angeleno can be counted.

In 2000, 78,000 Angelenos went uncounted. As a result, over the past 9 years, the region lost more than $206 million in state and federal funds supporting neighborhood improvements, public health, transportation, and public schools

Easy, important, and safe. In March 2010, the U.S. Census Bureau will send a form in the mail to every household in the country. The Census form asks only 10 questions and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Households are asked about the number of people living in your household, their age, race and gender.
